The bar chart illustrates the value of a country's exports in five different categories in 2015 and 2016 while the table shows the percentage of change 8n export earning over this period.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response identifies the main pattern accurately: petroleum products and engineered goods are the largest categories, and gems and jewellery is the only category to decline. It also reports the strongest growth in textiles and includes figures for all five categories. However, one key table figure is misreported: engineered goods rose by 8.5%, not 3.5%. The overview could also be more informative by noting that petroleum remained the top earner and that agricultural earnings were almost unchanged. Some comparisons are underdeveloped, and the figures are approximate, so clearer alignment between the chart values and percentage changes would make the summary more complete and reliable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction and overview to comparisons of the categories. Paragraphing helps separate the main trends, and phrases such as “In contrast” and “Similarly” guide the reader through the data. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, with each category reported in turn rather than grouped more deliberately by shared trends. The final three paragraphs are also quite short, and the break after “jewellery” interrupts the sentence visually. To improve cohesion, group the rising categories together and contrast them with the decline, while using linking expressions selectively and ensuring each paragraph forms a complete unit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “percentage growth,” “declined,” and “significant.” These choices make the main trends understandable, and the writer varies some wording rather than repeating “increased.” However, spelling errors such as “engeneered,” “jems,” and “experinced” reduce accuracy. Some phrasing is also imprecise: “percentage of change 8n export earning” is awkward, and “an increased in export earnings” uses the wrong word form. More precise chart language, such as “rose by” or “accounted for,” would strengthen the report. Check spelling and collocations carefully, especially in the introduction and overview.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the contrast clause “whereas gems and jewellery showed a slight decline” and the participial phrase “rising by 15.24%.” Most sentences communicate the intended comparisons clearly. Some grammatical errors remain, however: “Most categories experienced an increased” has an incorrect noun form, and “representing an 3.5% rise” has an article error. The opening sentence also contains a typo that disrupts the phrase, while punctuation is missing after the engineered-goods sentence. Aim for more consistent control of articles, word forms, and sentence endings, and proofread each sentence after drafting.
