Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the chart’s subject and give an overview that petroleum products earned the most, while textiles had the lowest value initially and the largest percentage increase. However, the overview is incomplete and the response reports very few comparisons. It also misstates the 2016 petroleum figure as “more that 65” (the chart shows about 63) and says petroleum and engineered goods had equal earnings, which is not supported. The response ends before describing the other categories or the table’s changes. It contains 94 words, 56 below the 150-word minimum; the 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To improve, report the main rises and fall accurately and include key figures for all categories.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introduction is followed by an overview and then a paragraph beginning “While observing the bar graph”. This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, the final paragraph is unfinished, and the response does not progress through the categories or connect the chart figures to the table. Linking words such as “Overall”, “While” and “However” are used, but some connections are unclear or awkward, as in “However, textiles consumed most percentage change in value but petroleum cinsumed low”. Use separate, complete paragraphs for the introduction, overview and detailed comparisons, and group related figures logically. Check spacing after punctuation and ensure each paragraph develops a complete point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “bar chart”, “percentage change”, “export earnings” and category names, so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the report less clear: “porivide”, “earinings”, “lowwest” and “cinsumed”. “Consumed” is also an unsuitable verb for describing export values; use “recorded” or “experienced”. The phrase “from beginning to Ending” is vague, while “as compare to” is an inaccurate collocation. Aim for precise reporting language such as “rose”, “fell”, “remained stable” and “accounted for”, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a few longer sentence patterns, including “Overall, Petroleum products had the most export…” and a contrast introduced by “While”. However, sentence control is weak: the opening has a run-on boundary between “2016.likewise,table”, and the final sentence, “Engineered goods and petroleum had equal export earning in the years”, is incomplete in meaning and lacks a clear comparison. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement and sentence punctuation, for example “in year 2015” and the inconsistent capitalisation after commas. Most sentences rely on simple structures, with little accurate variety. Build complete sentences around one clear comparison at a time, and check articles, verb forms, punctuation and sentence boundaries.
