Student answer (Band 4.5)

The chart illustrates the value of one country's exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. They give the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015. It is not a big difference in earning.

60 billions can exports from the field of the petroleum products in 2015 and 63 billion in the next year. Engineered goods can exprts 58 in the first year and in the next year it can exports 61 billions. Gems and jewellary can exports 40 or round about. Textile is cheapest in the graph.

Petroleum products value is increased 3% in the given time. Engineered goods changed the value upto 8.5% or above and the gems and jewellary can changes the value decrease 5.18% in the year 2015 th 2016. tThe agricultural products can increase the value in the same year is 0.81% and the textile can increased upto15.24 in the same year. This is the biggest flex in that way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the topic and report several relevant figures and percentage changes, including the 3% rise in petroleum and the 5.18% fall in gems and jewellery. However, the response gives only a limited account of the chart: it omits the agricultural-products values and the 2016 figures for gems and textiles, and the overview “It is not a big difference in earning” misses the important contrast that textiles rose most while gems declined. Some details are inaccurate or unclear, such as saying engineered goods reached 61 rather than about 62. The response is also 138 words, below the required 150; the 21 words copied from the prompt are not included in that count. Add a clear overview and compare the main highs, lows and changes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to group information: the opening introduces the chart, followed by figures and then percentage changes. This gives the reader some sense of the response’s purpose. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the comparisons are incomplete and the paragraphs do not clearly organise the categories or highlight an overall pattern. Connections between ideas are often missing, as in the abrupt move from “Gems and jewellary” to “Textile is cheapest in the graph.” The final section lists changes in a long sequence, with little punctuation or linking to show how the figures relate. Use a clear overview paragraph, then organise the details into logical groups, such as the highest-earning categories and the lower-earning ones.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some relevant chart vocabulary, including “value,” “percentage change,” “increased,” and “decrease,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and several word choices or spellings make the meaning less clear. Phrases such as “can exports,” “cheapest in the graph,” and “biggest flex” are not appropriate for describing export values and trends; “flex” appears to be an inaccurate choice for “rise.” There are also spelling errors in “exprts” and “jewellary.” Aim for precise terms such as “export earnings,” “recorded,” “rose,” and “declined,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make the descriptions awkward or unclear. For example, “They give the percentage change” has an unclear subject, while “Petroleum products value is increased 3%” uses an incorrect verb form and sentence pattern. The repeated construction “can exports” is also grammatically faulty, and “the agricultural products can increase the value in the same year is 0.81%” combines clauses without a workable structure. Tense and agreement are not controlled consistently. Practise simple, accurate reporting patterns first—for example, “Export earnings from petroleum products rose from $61 billion to $63 billion”—then vary these with correctly formed comparisons.
