Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the two visuals and report several relevant comparisons, including petroleum as the highest-earning category in 2015 and textiles as the lowest, as well as textiles having the largest percentage increase. However, some figures and trends are misreported: in 2016, agricultural products and textiles were both about $31.5 billion, not $31 billion; and gems and jewellery fell by 5.18%, rather than increasing by that amount. You also assign the 3% change to agricultural products in the sentence about petroleum and agriculture, although petroleum rose by 3% and agriculture by 0.81%. The overview is limited and the statement that other exports earned an “average amount” is vague. A clearer summary of the main rises and the one decline would make the response more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the chart and table, and a concluding comparison. This makes the information generally easy to follow. However, the repeated sequence markers “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” make the organisation somewhat mechanical, and the final paragraph repeats points already made rather than drawing the main trends together. Some links also obscure relationships: “Moreover” introduces figures that would be clearer as direct comparisons, while “However” does not establish a clear contrast in the table paragraph. Grouping the main increases together and contrasting them with the fall in gems and jewellery would create a more logical progression and clearer cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “exports,” “percentage change,” “highest,” and “lowest,” so the topic is clear. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, including “got the highest earning,” “amount of earning,” and “an average amount of dollars.” “The table given information” is also an inaccurate phrase, and “change” does not show whether a category rose or fell. Use more precise reporting language, such as “generated export revenue,” “stood at,” “increased,” and “declined.” More varied and accurate collocations would help you describe the data without relying repeatedly on “got” and “earning.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use comparison structures, for example, “Whereas textiles got the lowest earning” and “If we compared every products export's earning.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence patterns contain errors. “The table given information” is missing a suitable verb, while “every products” has incorrect number agreement. In “Petroleum products got the highest earning which are 61 billions dollars,” the relative clause and singular/plural forms do not agree. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent, as in “And” and “The” after sentence breaks. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and punctuation when editing.
