Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover the main features and make a clear overall comparison: petroleum products earned the most, textiles the least in 2015, and textiles had the largest percentage rise while agricultural products changed least. Most figures and trends are accurately reported, including the fall in gems and jewellery and the rise in engineered goods. This gives the reader a relevant summary rather than a list of every value. To make the overview more complete and precise, state that petroleum remained the highest-earning category in 2016 and that gems and jewellery was the only category to decline. Some details are less fully developed: for example, the 2016 value for gems and jewellery is not given, and the agricultural figure is described only as a very small increase.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs grouping the categories. The sequence from the highest-earning products through the remaining categories is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “Moreover” help signal progression. However, some connections feel mechanical, particularly the repeated “In addition” and “Looking at the bar chart in more details.” The overview also separates the highest and lowest earnings from the percentage-change comparison without clearly linking these observations to the two years. Use more precise referencing and transitions to show how categories compare, and ensure each body paragraph develops a clear comparison rather than presenting figures one by one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “earnings,” “percentage,” “decreased,” and “increased,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There is some attempt at varied phrasing, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “maximum earnings come by export,” “higher change see,” and “the value of textiles.” “Table chart” is also an imprecise label for the table. These choices make the description less fluent and occasionally require the reader to interpret your meaning. Aim for standard chart-reporting expressions such as “generated the highest export revenue,” “recorded the largest increase,” and “the value of exports.” More accurate collocations and a wider range of precise verbs would strengthen this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons and clauses with “which,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “country earn” should be “the country earned,” “it was rised” should be “it rose,” and “which was increased” is better expressed as “which increased.” The sentence beginning “In 2015 by export agricultural products…” also has an awkward grammatical structure, while “increased by very little” lacks a clear subject and article. These errors do not generally prevent understanding, but they limit accuracy. Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences and checking tense consistency when describing past data.
