Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all five export categories and report the main direction of change, including the key contrast that gems and jewellery fell while the other categories rose. You also identify petroleum as the largest export and textiles as having the strongest percentage increase. These are relevant overview features. However, the overview is not fully precise: calling the remaining categories’ changes “relatively minor” overlooks textiles’ substantial rise, and the petroleum increase is described as “almost 3%” rather than clearly linking the percentage to the change in value. Some figures and comparisons are only partly developed, particularly for agricultural products and textiles. A clearer overview contrasting the highest values, the sole decline, and the largest percentage rise would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by petroleum, then the other categories. Phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moving to the other categories,” and “Finally” help signal progression, and the reader can generally follow the comparisons. However, several sentences combine multiple points with commas, especially the sentence beginning “Similarly Gems and gewellery…,” which makes the relationships between categories less clear. The overview also says changes were minor before the later account identifies textiles as the largest increase, weakening the progression of the main message. Use separate, well-formed sentences and group categories by trend—for example, increases together and the decline separately—to make cohesion less mechanical and comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “export,” “categories,” “increased,” “decreased,” and “percentage,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “reached to more value,” “the last thing,” and “most notable feature” when describing a category’s value. Spelling errors in “petrolium,” “gewellery,” and “stoot” also reduce precision. Repetition of “started,” “rose,” and “reached” makes the account less flexible. Aim for accurate collocations such as “stood at,” “rose to,” “recorded an increase,” and “export earnings,” and check spelling of category names. This would make the description more precise and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical control are noticeable. For example, “the petrolium products it started” has an unnecessary repeated subject, while “It then rose and reached to more value” uses an incorrect verb pattern. The phrase “between 2015 to 2016” also uses an incorrect preposition pairing; write “between 2015 and 2016.” There are further issues with agreement and number, as in “products was” and “60 billions,” and comma splices in the final paragraph. Practise building accurate comparisons with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas. More reliable control of these patterns would improve clarity.
