Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main overall pattern that petroleum products earned the most and that textiles had the strongest growth, while gems and jewellery declined. Several figures are also broadly close to the chart. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it stops after discussing three categories and omits agricultural products and textiles’ actual earnings, so the comparison is incomplete. The overview also says textiles were the least-valued category in both years, which is not true in 2016, when textiles and agricultural products were both about $31.5 billion. The response is 12 words below the required minimum. To develop the report, include the missing categories and a concise overview of both earnings and percentage changes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure: an opening and overview are followed by details about petroleum, engineered goods and gems. This gives the reader some sense of organisation, and phrases such as “Overall” and “In 2015” signal the stages of the report. However, the progression is incomplete because the account ends without covering the remaining categories, and the body does not group or compare all the data systematically. Some links are awkward or unclear, as in “in next year” and “which is closely 61 billions.” Use separate, purposeful paragraphs and connect related comparisons—for example, the categories that rose versus the one that fell—to make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt task-related vocabulary, including “exportation,” “valuation,” “increased” and “significant fall,” and the reader can generally identify the categories being discussed. However, the range is limited and many word choices, forms and spellings are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to process. Examples include “various good,” “table chart,” “incridebley surged,” “dicreased” and “earnimg.” Some expressions are also unnatural for describing chart data, such as “the number was grown” and “exporting of petroleum product.” Prefer precise, standard reporting language such as “export earnings,” “rose to,” “declined by” and “the value for.” Careful spelling and collocation checks would make your comparisons clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate some comparisons using simple and compound sentence forms, and the response includes attempts at more complex structures, such as “while” and “whereas.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles and plurals. For example, “the exportation of petroleum product was stood” combines incompatible verb forms, while “in both year” and “gems and jewellery was decreased” show agreement and number problems. “In 2015 it was at 42 billions but in 2016 it reached at 40” also has faulty sentence structure and preposition use. Practise accurate patterns such as “Earnings stood at about $60 billion in 2015 and rose to $62 billion in 2016.”
