Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the chart’s subject and include several relevant figures, such as petroleum earnings above $60 billion and textiles at about $26 billion in 2015. However, the response only partially summarises the data: the overview is inaccurate because textiles were not the least-exported category in both years, and it omits the key overall pattern that textiles had the largest percentage rise while gems and jewellery was the only category to decline. Some figures are also misreported: petroleum in 2016 was about $63 billion, not $62 billion, and the claim that agricultural products decreased is incorrect. The table discussion ends unfinished. The response is also three words below the required minimum. A complete overview and accurate coverage of the main changes are needed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details, and phrases such as “Overall” and “In contrast” help signal relationships. The response is therefore partly organised, but progression is weakened by the abrupt ending at “Gems and jewellery plammee,” which leaves the table information incomplete. The overview also does not clearly guide the reader through the main trends, and the long detail sentence beginning “gems and jewellery, agricultural products, and textiles” combines several comparisons without clearly stating which figures rose or fell. Use separate, logically grouped sentences for the chart and percentage changes, and ensure each paragraph develops a complete point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “exports,” “categories,” “increased slightly,” and “percentage change,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices reduce clarity: “importance” does not describe export value, “proportion change” is not the right expression for percentage change, and “plammee” is unintelligible. There are also spelling errors such as “iteams,” “higest,” and “ enigeered,” alongside awkward combinations such as “money earned by exporting.” Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully; terms such as “export earnings,” “rose,” “declined,” and “accounted for” would make comparisons clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts a few complex structures, including “while” and “whereas,” and uses past-tense forms to describe the years. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “and table compares” is missing an article, while “more then 60 billions US dollars earned” has problems with word order, passive construction, and number agreement. In “Petroleum and engineered goods were soared,” the verb form is incorrect; use “rose” or “increased.” The sentence beginning “gems and jewellery, agricultural products, and textiles earned…” also shifts awkwardly into “this decreased.” Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and build shorter, complete comparison sentences before adding complex clauses.
