Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart’s broad subject and note that petroleum is among the highest-earning categories, while textiles show the largest percentage rise. However, the overview contains a key error: petroleum increased from about $61 billion to $63 billion, rather than decreasing, and textiles were not the lowest in 2016, when gems and jewellery were lower. The body gives only a few figures and does not clearly report the main comparisons across both years. It also omits the agricultural and textile percentage changes and does not state that gems and jewellery fell. To improve, give an accurate overview of the leading and lowest categories and the contrasting trends, then support it with selected figures from both the chart and table.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of the chart and table. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within the body is difficult to follow because several comparisons are vague or contradictory, such as “the Engineered goods are decresed exports earn in 2015 as compare to other increased in 2016.” The phrase “whereas, the other categories” does not clearly explain which categories rose or fell, and the table paragraph ends without covering all its information. Use one paragraph to compare chart values and another to summarise percentage changes, ordering each set of details clearly. More precise linking and reference would make the relationships between figures easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “export,” “categories,” “percentage,” and “increased,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear: “earning of a country experts,” “export earning,” and “3% ratio” are not natural ways to describe the data. Spelling errors such as “petrolleum,” “incresed,” and “Futhermore” are also noticeable, while “Germ and jewellery” obscures the category name. Aim for accurate chart language and check spelling carefully. Phrases such as “export revenue,” “rose to,” and “percentage change” would help you describe the figures more precisely and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including an overview beginning “Overall, it is clear that…”. However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the intended comparison difficult to understand. For example, “the table shows the change the categories of exports” is missing a grammatical link, while “Petroleum products are incresed the export earning” has an incorrect verb construction. Tense and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “the Engineered goods are decresed” and “the table show.” Punctuation is unreliable, with missing spaces after full stops and a comma splice-like transition before “whereas.” Build shorter, complete sentences first, then add complex clauses only when their grammar is secure.
