Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover all five export categories and include both the chart values and the percentage changes, with a useful overview identifying petroleum as the leading category and textiles as the lowest in 2015. Most trends are represented correctly: gems decline, while the other categories rise. However, the overview is not fully accurate for the whole period: textiles were the lowest in 2015, but in 2016 they reached about $31.5 billion, matching agricultural products rather than remaining the lowest. Some figures are also imprecise, such as engineered goods at about $61 billion instead of $62 billion, and the percentage for gems is described unclearly as having “changed” rather than decreased. A clearer overview of the main increases and the one decline would make the report more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a body that moves through the categories. Sequencing expressions such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “finally” help the reader follow the comparisons. However, progression is somewhat mechanical because nearly every category is introduced separately with a transition, and some links are awkward or unclear, such as “In addition represents” and “the percentage was only 5.18% changed.” Punctuation also interrupts the flow, particularly the full stop in “which showed a significant increase in proportion” and inconsistent spacing after sentence boundaries. Grouping the categories that increased together and contrasting them with gems would create a clearer line of comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “decline,” “increased,” “approximately,” and “significant increase,” so the reader can generally understand the trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the report difficult to interpret. For example, “petroleum products earned heavily” and “Engineered goods was at second number” are not natural ways to describe export values or rankings. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “sevrel,” “precentage,” “sligtly,” and “differance.” Aim for precise chart language such as “generated export revenue,” “ranked second,” and “rose by,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences to compare years, for example, “Engineered goods sales around 57 billions in 2015, which was slightly increased in 2016…” This shows an effort to connect information, but the response relies mainly on simple patterns and many sentences contain grammatical errors that sometimes make relationships unclear. Examples include missing verbs in “Engineered goods sales around 57,” incorrect agreement in “Engineered goods was,” and faulty passive construction in “was slightly increased.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “61 billions dollor” and “32 billion. which showed…” Practise accurate comparison structures such as “revenue was $57 billion and rose to $62 billion,” while varying sentence forms and checking each sentence for a complete clause.
