Student answer (Band 5.0)
This chart tells about the percantage change of different minerals in a country from 2015 to 2016. In 2016 the percantage of Petroleum products is change in these years is about 3 percent. And the percentage increase in the Engineering goods is about 8.5%. The decrease in the percentage of gems and jewellery about 5.18% in these years. On the other hand there is increase in the agriculture products about 0.81% in two years. There is increase in the products of textiles approximately about 15.24% in these two years. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant movements, including increases for petroleum, engineered goods, agriculture and textiles, and a decline for gems and jewellery. The percentage figures you report are broadly consistent with the table. However, the response only partially summarises the visual: it describes the task as being about “different minerals” and focuses mainly on percentage changes, while the bar chart gives export values in billions of dollars. There is no clear overview of the main pattern, such as petroleum products remaining the highest earner or textiles showing the strongest growth. The final reference to petroleum being “near to 60 billions” is imprecise, and the chart’s category values are largely omitted. Include a concise overview and compare key values as well as percentage changes.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response contains a recognisable sequence: it lists changes by category and then attempts a concluding summary. Basic linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “So” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the information is presented as one continuous paragraph, with no clear overview separating the main trends from supporting details. Several points are repeated, particularly the increases and the decline in gems and jewellery, and “in these years” is used repeatedly without clarifying the comparison. The final sentence introduces export income but does not connect it clearly to the earlier percentage figures. Group the information into an overview and a details section, and use more precise references to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “percentage increase,” “decrease,” “income,” and the product-category names, so the basic meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or awkward: “minerals” does not describe all the categories, “production” is not the same as export value, and “percentage of Petroleum products” mislabels the data. Spelling errors such as “percantage,” “jewlleery,” and “dollers” are noticeable, while phrases like “increase in the products” are imprecise. These issues sometimes make the intended comparison less clear. Use accurate terms such as “export earnings,” “value,” and “rose by,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on short, simple statements and shows limited control when attempting longer structures. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and sentence construction, as in “the percantage of Petroleum products is change” and “there is decreased in the production.” Articles and agreement are also problematic in phrases such as “the decrease in the percentage of gems and jewellery about 5.18%,” which lacks a complete grammatical structure. The repeated use of “there is increase” further limits variety and accuracy. Although the reader can understand the general direction of most changes, these errors sometimes make relationships between figures unclear. Practise complete comparison sentences, for example, “Textile earnings rose by 15.24%,” and vary sentence patterns while checking tense, articles and subject–verb agreement.
