Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern that petroleum products earned the most and textiles had the largest increase, and you also note the decline in gems and jewellery. Most figures and percentage changes are broadly consistent with the chart, including the approximate values for textiles and agricultural products. However, the overview is not clearly separated from the details, and the final statement that the other categories had “an average growth” is vague and overlooks that gems and jewellery fell. Some comparisons are also unclear: for example, the sentence about gems and agricultural products combines their earnings without clearly matching each figure to each year. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the overall ranking and contrasting trends, then report the key figures with precise category-to-value links.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction, a paragraph comparing categories, and a concluding summary. This gives the reader an overall structure, and words such as “Furthermore,” “but,” and “In conclusion” signal relationships between ideas. However, the body paragraph contains several long, crowded sentences, so comparisons are sometimes difficult to follow. For instance, the sentence beginning “Gems and jewellery as well as Agricultural products” places two categories and four earnings figures together without clear pairing. Some linking phrases also feel mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between points. Use separate sentences or grouped comparisons, and make references explicit—for example, state each category’s 2015 and 2016 values together before describing its percentage change.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “earning,” “products,” and “change in values,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts to vary expression with phrases such as “biggest change” and “loss.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “exports earning,” “remain at top,” and “average changes in values.” Spelling errors such as “categroies,” “chanes,” and “pertroleum” also reduce precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main comparisons, but they make the report less natural. Build a reliable set of chart phrases, such as “export earnings,” “remained the highest,” “rose by,” and “recorded a decline,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with contrast, as in “Textiles products are remain at low … but biggest change in values.” This shows an effort to connect information, but some sentence structures are faulty and make relationships harder to interpret. Examples include “are remain,” where the verb form is incorrect, and “table below there illustrate,” where the subject and verb do not agree. The sentence about engineered goods also uses “earning in 2015 around 57%,” which does not form a clear grammatical comparison between earnings and percentage change. Work on consistent past-tense reporting, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Shorter, accurately controlled sentences would help you express the data clearly while you develop more complex structures.
