Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar graph depicts the revenue of different categories from 2015 to 2016 of one country's, while the table illustrates the proportion of all category of exports in 2015 and 2016. Unit in billions.
Overall, it is readily apparent that the highest revenue generate from petroleum and engineered products. Moreover, all categories value increased, except gems and jewellery.
The noticeable surge in textiles industry.
To begin with, in 2015, the total value earned from petroleum products was around $60 billion, the highest earning in this year. After one year, this figure shows a growth by 3%. Similarly, engineered goods also continued its status as the second valuable category after 8.5% increase, $62 billion. The most significant rise seen in the textiles category where its value up by 15.24% in 2016.
Regarding agricultural products, the country gained roughly around $31 billion for exporting goods, in both the years. Finally, as the only one category with a negative increase, gems and jewellery experienced a decrese of 5.18% earnings, decline from $42 billion to only $40 billion over the given period.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main pattern accurately: petroleum and engineered goods are the highest-earning categories, while gems and jewellery is the only one to decline. You also report several useful figures and percentage changes, including the 3% and 8.5% rises and textiles’ largest increase. This covers the task well, with the overview showing the main contrasts. However, some details are incomplete or imprecise: the overview says all categories’ values increased except gems, although agricultural products were almost unchanged, and the textiles increase is not supported with its actual values. The opening also misdescribes the table as showing proportions of all categories rather than percentage changes. A more precise overview and fuller comparison of the lower-earning categories would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about the higher-earning categories and then the remaining two. Paragraphing helps the reader follow the broad organisation. However, progression is not consistently smooth: “The noticeable surge in textiles industry” is an isolated fragment rather than a complete overview sentence, and “To begin with” and “Regarding” do not always clarify how the information is being grouped. The final paragraph’s “Finally” introduces gems after agriculture, but the comparison between these categories could be more clearly signposted. Use complete, connected overview sentences and organise the details by a clear comparison, such as increases first and the decline and near-stability afterwards.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “revenue,” “surge,” “negative increase,” and “decline,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts to vary how changes are described. Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “the second valuable category” is not idiomatic, “the proportion of all category of exports” misrepresents the table, and “the country gained” is less precise than language about export earnings. Spelling errors such as “decrese” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart-reporting collocations and check word forms and spelling; for example, describe a category as “the second-highest earner” and say its value “rose” or “fell.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and several sentences communicate the data clearly, such as “Regarding agricultural products, the country gained roughly around $31 billion … in both the years.” However, some grammatical errors remain, and sentence control is uneven. The opening phrase “from 2015 to 2016 of one country's” has an awkward and incorrect structure; “the highest revenue generate” lacks the correct verb form; and “The noticeable surge in textiles industry” is a sentence fragment. There are also problems with articles and number agreement in “all category.” Build complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense, agreement, and articles. These corrections would make the comparisons easier to read while preserving your range of structures.
