Student answer (Band 5.0)

Here its given about the value of one country's exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. Here it is given export earnings for each product category.

Here petroleum products and engineered goods are increased in the years of 2015 and 2016 where they touched almost 63 to 63 billions in those years ,whereas gems and jewellery and Agricultural products maintained a steady exports in the years of 2015 and 2016 .But the trextiles has seen a steady growth in the year 2016 compared to previous one with almost 4 billion dollars greater than the previous year.

From the graph we can see the percentage of each exports category increase pr decrease ,petroleum has increased 3% and Engineered goods about 8.5% and Agrucultural products around 0.81% which is not more in change but its great to see growth in agricultural products, Textiles has increased about 15.24% which is great by the way and the gems and jewellery has decreased by almost 5.18%,which is bad because all the countrys gdp now basically depends on gems and jewellery.

overall all the products has seen a steady growth in 2016 than 2015, which is great to see by the way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant movements and include figures from both the chart and table, such as the 3% rise in petroleum and the 15.24% increase in textiles. However, some key information is misreported: gems and jewellery fell from about $43 billion to $41 billion, while agricultural exports were broadly stable; neither category showed growth. The claim that petroleum and engineered goods both reached almost $63 billion is inaccurate, as engineered goods were about $62 billion in 2016. Your overview that all products grew is also contradicted by the fall in gems and jewellery. The unsupported claim about the country’s GDP depending on gems is outside the chart. Focus the overview on the main contrast: most categories rose, but gems declined.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has some organisation: it begins with an introduction, discusses chart movements, then reports percentage changes and ends with an overall statement. However, the progression is not consistently clear because the main trends and the table figures are mixed together, and the final overview repeats an inaccurate claim that all products grew. Long sentences joined by “whereas” and commas make comparisons difficult to follow. The repeated opening phrase “Here it is given” and transitions such as “From the graph we can see” are mechanical rather than helping the reader understand relationships. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, overview and key details, and group the categories by trend so the comparisons develop logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “increased,” “decreased” and “steady growth,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal. “Maintained a steady exports” does not express the trend naturally, while “great to see” and “which is bad” introduce personal reactions rather than neutral report language. There are also spelling errors, including “trextiles,” “Agrucultural” and “countrys,” which reduce precision. Choose standard chart-reporting expressions such as “remained stable,” “recorded a decline” and “rose by,” and avoid evaluating whether a change is good or bad.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences to compare categories, but these are often difficult to control, and the response relies heavily on simple clauses joined with “and,” “whereas” or commas. Errors in agreement and sentence construction occur in examples such as “all the products has seen” and “the gems and jewellery has decreased.” Other patterns, including “in the years of 2015 and 2016” and “4 billion dollars greater than the previous year,” are not formed accurately. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and full stops. Practise writing shorter, complete comparison sentences first, checking subject–verb agreement and using past-tense forms consistently for the two years.
