Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify all five export categories and report the broad direction of change for each, including the fall in gems and jewellery and the rise in textiles. However, the response has no clear overview of the main features, so the reader is not told that petroleum remained the largest export or that textiles had the strongest growth. Several figures or details are inaccurate: petroleum is shown at about $61 billion and $63 billion, not $60 billion and $64 billion; engineered goods are about $57 billion and $62 billion, rather than $55 billion and $61 billion. The opening also mistakenly says 2026, and the table gives percentage changes rather than changes in the balance of trade. These omissions and misreadings leave the task only partially addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction is followed by two paragraphs covering the categories, and phrases such as “Moreover” and “On the other hand” signal movement between sections. This gives the information some organisation. However, there is no distinct overview, and the sequence mostly lists categories one by one rather than grouping or comparing the main patterns. “On the other hand” does not clearly express a contrast between the agricultural and textile figures, while repeated forms such as “in 2015 and in 2016” make the progression mechanical. Improve the flow by adding an overview after the introduction, then grouping the largest values and the most notable increases or decrease, with clear comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “increase,” “decrease,” “sales,” and “revenue,” so the general subject is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or awkward for describing a chart. “Balanced of trade” does not describe the figures shown, and “the percentage of petroleum items increse to 3%” confuses the percentage change with the export value. There are also repeated spelling errors, including “importace,” “campared,” “exibits,” and “texitiles,” which reduce precision. Aim for standard chart language and accurate collocations, such as “export earnings rose by” or “the value of exports fell.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences joined with “and” or “also,” and the reader can generally follow the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “The chart display” needs subject–verb agreement, while “the table show” has the same problem. In “the petroleum products got 60 billions dollar sale,” the noun phrase and plural forms are not controlled; “there percentage increase” also uses an incorrect possessive form. Some sentences run together without effective punctuation, particularly in the opening. Practise accurate simple comparison structures first, then combine them with controlled clauses such as “while” and “whereas.”
