Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main categories and recognise that petroleum products had the highest earnings, while textiles were among the lowest in 2015. However, the overview is incomplete and partly inaccurate: textiles were not the lowest in 2016, as agricultural products and textiles were both about $31.5 billion, while gems and jewellery fell to about $41 billion. The response also omits the table’s percentage changes and gives few clear comparisons between the years. The statement that engineered goods were “less than 2015” reverses the trend; they rose from about $57 billion to $62 billion. At 139 words, the response also falls short of the required 150. Include a concise overview and accurately report the key rises and fall.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and further details, and phrases such as “Overall” and “At the last” signal movement between points. However, the progression is difficult to follow because categories are not grouped or compared systematically, and several sentences combine unclear or contradictory information. For example, “the petroleum is morever high while the textiles is low” repeats the overview without adding a precise comparison, while the sentence about engineered goods is hard to interpret. Paragraphing is limited, and linking expressions are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive. Arrange the information into a clear overview followed by comparisons of the main increases, decrease and stable category, using straightforward links such as “whereas” and “by contrast.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage change,” “export earnings,” and the category names, so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make the report less clear, such as “countery,” “cetegory,” “Acourding,” and “morever.” Phrases including “in a good position” and “come down” are imprecise for describing chart data; more exact language would be “increased” or “declined.” “Above the 60%” also confuses a monetary value in billions with a percentage. Build a small set of accurate chart-reporting expressions and check spelling, word forms and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts several sentence forms, including comparisons between years, but control is weak and errors frequently make relationships difficult to understand. The opening sentence has problems with agreement and sentence boundaries: “The chart below illustrate … years of 2015 while 2016.the table represent…” The overview also contains faulty agreement and articles in “petroleum products was” and “the textiles is.” Tense and clause construction are inconsistent in “while in 2016 are come down,” and punctuation is often missing or misplaced. These errors affect clarity, particularly when describing whether values rose or fell. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled comparative clauses, for example, “Engineered goods rose from about $57 billion in 2015 to $62 billion in 2016.”
