Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the chart and the table, and identify the main contrasts: petroleum and engineered goods are the highest earners, textiles show the strongest growth, and gems and jewellery decline. Most reported figures and directions match the visual, including the 15.24% rise in textiles and 5.18% fall in gems. However, the overview is not clearly separated from detailed description, and the final claim about “demand” is not supported by export-value data. Some comparisons are also imprecise: gems fell from about $43 billion to $41 billion, while agricultural exports were nearly stable. A clearer overview stating the overall pattern and more precise comparisons would make the key features better developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to chart details, table figures and a concluding statement. This gives the reader an overall route through the information. However, the overview is mixed with detailed figures in a long paragraph, and several links between ideas are awkward or unclear, as in “the engineered goods as same to petroleum in 2016.” The transition “On the other hand” does not express a clear contrast between the chart and table, while “Finally” introduces an unsupported conclusion about demand. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and comparisons, and connect related figures directly rather than relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage,” “increased,” and “decreased,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. There are also attempts at more descriptive wording, such as “dramatically increased” and “substantially decreased.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or informal: “different kind of categories,” “agricultural things,” and “textile industry exportation” are not natural ways to describe the data. Spelling errors such as “pertroleum,” “aggricutural,” and “jewelllery” also reduce accuracy. Aim for consistent, precise terms such as “export earnings,” “categories,” and “rose/fell,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the main message is usually recoverable. However, sentence structures are often faulty, particularly where several comparisons are joined together. For example, “the chart information for five goods category in horizontal and prices in vertical” is not a complete sentence, and “the table data was clearly shows” combines incompatible verb forms. There are also agreement and article errors, as in “products … was high” and “in both year.” These problems sometimes make relationships between figures difficult to follow. Practise complete subject–verb sentences and use a consistent past-tense pattern, for example, “Textile exports rose from about $26 billion to $31.5 billion.”
