Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both the chart and the table, and your overview identifies the main contrasts: petroleum products had the highest earnings, while textiles showed the strongest percentage growth. Most figures and trends are accurately reported, including the fall in gems and jewellery and the small rise in agricultural products. This gives the response a clear, relevant summary with supporting details. To make the account more fully developed, distinguish more precisely between earnings and percentage change: petroleum earnings rose from about $61 billion to $63 billion, rather than remaining “almost same,” and textiles had the lowest earnings in 2015 but not in 2016, when they were approximately level with agricultural products. Also avoid calling the visuals a “pie chart”; they are a bar chart and a table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph describing the chart, and a final paragraph on the table. The sequence is generally easy to follow, and contrasts such as “On the other hand” help signal comparisons. This coherent organisation is a strength. However, some linking is repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “saw,” and the chart paragraph moves through categories without a particularly clear grouping or comparison. The final sentence about agricultural products also feels incomplete because it gives no comparison or concluding detail. Use more varied, precise transitions and group the figures—for example, the highest-earning categories together, followed by the lower-earning ones—to make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “percentage,” “growth,” “dip,” and “reached,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range is limited by repeated, broad wording such as “saw” and “change,” and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for this task. “Pie chart” misidentifies the visual, while “earning” and “good change” do not express the data precisely. Spelling errors—including “comapre,” “earining,” “minnor,” and “chnage”—are noticeable and reduce control. Aim for more exact terms for movement and values, and check spelling carefully. More precise collocations would make the report sound clearer and more appropriately academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “which,” and most of the data remains understandable. However, errors occur across sentence patterns and often make the writing less controlled. For example, “petroleum products earns” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “their value was also remain” combines incompatible verb forms. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention: “in various category,” “26 billion dollar,” and “almost same.On the other hand” illustrate these issues. The longer sentences sometimes become awkwardly joined, as in the description of engineered goods. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, consistent tense, correct singular or plural forms, and appropriate punctuation.
