Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main categories and include several relevant figures, such as petroleum earnings rising from about $60 billion to $62 billion and textiles showing the largest percentage increase. However, the overview is not consistently accurate: “petroleum products and engineered goods were most popularly exported” describes their high values, but the claim that the remaining categories were “bit low in both category” is unclear and overlooks that gems declined while the other categories rose. The final paragraph also calls petroleum and agriculture the “lowest” percentage changes without clearly distinguishing their different rates. Some comparisons are missing or under-developed, particularly the fall in gems and jewellery from about $43 billion to $41 billion. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of the trends would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “Following that” attempt to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, “In that, from petroleum products…” and “In luxury product…” do not clearly connect the figures to the categories, while “Remaining data in percentage change…” introduces the table awkwardly. Some linking is mechanical, and the overview’s reference to “both category” leaves the comparison unclear. Grouping the main chart figures by higher and lower earnings, then summarising the percentage changes in a separate, clearly signposted paragraph, would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “percentage change,” “petroleum products,” and “gems and jewellery,” so the reader can identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to interpret. “Worth of trading” is not a natural description of export values, “the most supplied” does not express the largest percentage rise, and “got profit” is unsuitable for reporting export earnings. There are also spelling errors such as “popullarly” and “remaning,” alongside imprecise labels such as “agro product” and “luxury product.” Use standard chart-reporting terms consistently and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “the table gives information of each category which are delivered,” where the clause structure and agreement are faulty, and “the country earned to 60 to 62 billion dollar,” which has an incorrect verb pattern and number form. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “in export earning category” and “last 2 category.” Several fragments or awkwardly joined clauses appear, including “In that, from petroleum products…” and “And by 2016 it was above 60 billion.” Practise complete subject–verb sentences and accurate past-tense reporting, then proofread agreement, articles and punctuation.
