Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant trends, including the rise in petroleum and engineered-goods earnings, the fall in gems and jewellery, and the strong growth in textiles. However, the response does not provide a clear overall summary of the main features, and some figures are inaccurate: textiles earned about $26 billion in 2015, not $16 billion, while the 2016 figure was about $31.5 billion. The statement that petroleum and engineered goods earned “almost same” amounts is broadly reasonable, but the comparison would be clearer with their approximate values. Agricultural products and textiles were similar in 2016, as you note, though this comparison needs more precise wording. A concise overview and more accurate selection of key figures would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response follows a broadly chronological pattern, moving through the product categories, and the reader can generally understand which trends you are describing. However, it is presented as one long paragraph and lacks a distinct overview, so the main message is not clearly separated from the details. Several transitions are repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “In 2016” and “export earnings,” while “The the export earnings” disrupts the final comparison. Grouping the two highest-earning categories together, then the remaining categories, and using a separate overview paragraph would create clearer progression. Use linking phrases to show contrast and similarity, rather than listing each category in sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “increment,” “drastic increment,” and “foreign currency,” and the intended meaning is usually clear. Some choices are imprecise or unnatural for describing chart data: “earned more than 60 billion$” would be more naturally expressed as “generated over $60 billion in export revenue,” and “droped” should be “fell” or “declined.” There are also spelling errors such as “insigths,” “nest,” and “gricultural,” which reduce accuracy. “Drastic increment” is understandable but less suitable than “sharp increase.” Aim for precise collocations and check spelling, while avoiding repeated use of “export earnings” where a clear pronoun or alternative phrase would work.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and most of the comparisons remain understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur. For example, “The export earnings was” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the textile products shows” should use a plural verb. The opening sentence, “The bar chart describes the comparison of export earnings … of various products,” is awkwardly constructed, while “The table below, gives” includes an unnecessary comma. There are also problems with articles and sentence formation in “the export earnings droped … from 2015 to 2016” and “The the export earnings was quit same.” Use a consistent past-tense reporting style and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when revising.
