Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant trends, including the rise in textiles, the small increase in agricultural products, and the fall in gems and jewellery. You also include the percentage changes, which helps address the table. However, the response only partially summarises the visual: it gives almost no actual export values and does not clearly compare the categories’ overall earnings. The overview is vague—“textile have record export” is not accurate for both years, since petroleum products were highest in 2015 and 2016. Some descriptions are also unclear or misleading, such as saying petroleum “did not export too much.” To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the highest and lowest categories and report selected values from both years accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has some paragraphing and a broadly relevant sequence: it first discusses individual categories and then offers a general comment. However, there is no clear overall progression from an overview to well-organised comparisons, and the final paragraph repeats points already made about textiles and gems. Linking is limited and sometimes awkward; “However” introduces the gems comparison, but the relationship between the surrounding ideas is not consistently clear. The opening sentences also repeat the task description rather than establishing the main features. Organise the report into an introduction, a concise overview, and comparison paragraphs grouping categories with similar trends. Use clear references and linking phrases only where they show a genuine relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “export earnings,” “percentage,” “increasing,” and “rise,” so the main subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “did not export too much” does not clearly describe a small increase in value, while “make boom” and “record export” are unsuitable for a measured chart description. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “shwowing,” “diiference,” and “oercentage.” Aim for precise, neutral reporting language and check spelling. Alternatives such as “rose slightly,” “recorded the largest increase,” and “export value” would fit this task more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a few longer sentences and uses comparison structures, for example, “as compared to 2015,” but most sentences rely on simple patterns and grammatical errors are frequent. The opening, “The plot shwowing the amount…,” is a fragment, and “The illustration shows percentage varies” lacks a grammatical structure. There are recurring problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “Petroleum products export goes up” and “textile have record export.” Tense and sentence construction are also unreliable in “it will not going good.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to interpret. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use consistent past-tense forms to describe the 2015–2016 data.
