Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify several relevant features, including the strong rise in textiles, the increase in engineered goods, and the slight fall in gems and jewellery. However, the overview is unclear and contains a key misreading: you say engineered goods and gems and jewellery “are raised by 3 and 5.18%,” whereas petroleum products rose by 3% and gems and jewellery fell by 5.18%. The body gives some approximate values, but the 2015 figures for petroleum and engineered goods are not accurate, and the 2016 paragraph does not report the category values clearly. The statement that “the profit is increased” is unsupported and vague. To develop the response further, give a concise, accurate overview of the main contrasts, then compare the categories using the chart’s values and the table’s percentage changes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of the two years. This gives the reader some organisation, and words such as “Overall,” “However,” and “Finally” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear. The overview repeats the textiles increase and gives confusing comparisons, while the final paragraph moves between category trends and an unsupported conclusion about profit. “In 2016” introduces a list, but the information is not developed in a clear order or supported with figures. Some linking words are also used mechanically or in ways that obscure the relationship between ideas. Organise the body by comparing each category across both years, and use a clear overview to guide the reader through the main rises and the one decline.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “exports,” “category,” “percentage,” and “billion,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “comparison of changing,” “did raise,” “huge success,” and “profit is increased”; the chart reports export values, not profit or success. “Engineering goods” is also inconsistent with the chart’s label, “engineered goods.” Repetition of “raised” and “huge” limits precision. Aim for neutral reporting language such as “increased,” “declined,” “recorded,” and “export earnings,” and use the category names consistently. Check spelling and word forms, particularly “faced” and “jewellery,” to make the report more accurate and formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with contrast, for example, “In 2016 … are raised … However, Gems and jewelry …”. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent (“Textiles has increased”), and verb forms are often faulty (“did raise,” “are raised,” “faced a bit fall down”). There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “petroleum products are engineering goods are about 62 and 55 billion.” Capitalisation after full stops is inconsistent, and the overview contains a run-on sequence of clauses. Use a reliable past-tense pattern—“rose from … to …” or “fell from … to …”—and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb. Shorter, accurately punctuated comparisons would improve clarity.
