Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both views and state a position in the conclusion: you agree that species loss is important, while acknowledging other problems. However, the discussion is only partial and the ideas are minimally developed. The first body paragraph gives examples of species loss and deforestation, but the examples are unclear or inaccurate—for instance, tigers, lions and elephants are described as extinct, and the point about plants is difficult to follow. The opposing view is reduced to a short list, with no explanation of which environmental problems are more important or why. Your own opinion is also not clearly supported. The response is 231 words, below the required 250; the 66 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop both views with accurate examples and explain your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the broad direction of the essay. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several linking expressions are awkward or repetitive, such as “Foremost,” “On the other hand,” and “In sum up.” The second body paragraph lists possible problems but does not connect them into a developed explanation. Some sentences are difficult to follow, and references such as “this following issue” are unclear. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it; use linking phrases only where they show a clear relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “particular species,” “deforestation,” “environmental condition,” and “human activities.” There is also some effort to vary expression rather than repeat only basic words. However, the range is limited and many word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make meaning unclear or unnatural. Examples include “multiple perfection,” “modern inovations,” “our particular species … also loss,” and “environmental condition is deteriorite.” Some phrases, such as “lack of positive attractions,” do not communicate a clear environmental idea. Build a more accurate topic vocabulary and check how words combine in English. Prefer precise terms such as habitat destruction, pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss when they match your point.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You try to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “Although” and a contrast introduced by “however.” This shows an attempt to connect clauses, but the structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “we all are resides” has incorrect verb construction, while “there are various types of issue has been visible” combines incompatible structures. Agreement and sentence boundaries are also problematic in “every residents have surrounded” and “Although …” at the start of a sentence without a complete main clause. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
