Student answer (Band 6.0)
Our basic needs got satisfied from the environment. If the demand of one product goes up at the end the supply decreases because of limited resources. in last few decades the population is increasing rapidly, for the living of that land is required. While the arrangements of shelter many trees has to cut down to clean the forest area. As many spices live in the forest due to their habitat requirements. The shortage of the conditions for their survival leads to decline the rate of reproduction of that particular species. This same happens in the case of plants. Over grazing also stops the spread of seeds of the species. hence there are some plants and animals' species are in danger level.
In spite of this there are other environmental issues are on priority level of discussion such as climate change, water pollution and declining the water level and in human increasing depression and anxiety due to change in environment. under this thought of school climate is changing increasingly which leads to all other problems. The new generation facing many health issues due to that. This Climate change does not happen overnight as it is result of selfishness of human. For the shake of benefit human is using the natural resources by rough and tough without taking care regeneration of those resources. This world is following a chain of balance if one part is broken it will impact the whole.
in my view climate change is on priority to conserve all the humanity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views regarding the loss of species versus other environmental problems. However, the development of these ideas is limited. The explanation of species loss is somewhat repetitive, and the discussion of climate change is vague, lacking specific examples or a clear link to why it might be considered more 'important' than biodiversity loss. While a position is stated in the conclusion, the argument lacks depth and analytical rigor. The essay touches upon the requirements but fails to extend the ideas sufficiently to reach a higher band, resulting in a somewhat superficial treatment of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into three paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions between sentences are often mechanical or missing, such as the abrupt shift from the first paragraph to the second. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, for example, 'In spite of this' is used incorrectly to introduce a new topic rather than a contrast. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Paragraphing is present but does not effectively group related ideas, leading to a disjointed reading experience.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'environment' and 'problems'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'rough and tough' to describe resource usage and 'danger level' instead of 'endangered'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the presence of non-standard phrasing limit the score. To improve, the student should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to environmental science.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many spices live' instead of 'species'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'While the arrangements of shelter many trees has to cut down'). The range of sentence structures is limited, relying mostly on simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the reader can generally understand the intended message, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band.
