Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's modern world environmental problem arises in each country. Some people blamed to the loss of particular species of plants and animals whereas others define there are more vital environmental problems out there. From My standpoint, I believe that it is other more important environmental problems.

From the people we often hear them talking about specific species that went extinct due to humas and now it is creating problem like environmental problems. They consider humans interference to the forest and food as live animals decrease the pray. As a result, nature punish us through the environmental problems which is not certainly true. Furthermore, people like me consider it as minor change, but the more important environmental problems should be prioritized. For example, the global warming which is increasing in each year. The major issues should be looked after more importantly than around some minor change. Global warming should be watched and study in vast so it can be solved quickly as the effect of it can destroy millions of lives in short period of time. Like this the important environmental problems there are many. Furthermore, they should study in detail instead of time in loss of particular species of plants and animals. There are more important topics to discuss about the problems we have in our environment.

In the conclusion, the loss of particular species of plants and animals are not global problems but the more important like global warming and it has severed issues if not taken seriously.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding species loss and global warming are somewhat repetitive and lack specific, well-explained examples. The explanation of why species loss is considered a 'minor change' is underdeveloped, and the reasoning for prioritizing global warming is somewhat simplistic. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more depth in your analysis, perhaps by discussing the interconnectedness of biodiversity and climate change, rather than just stating that one is more important than the other. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the phrase 'Like this the important environmental problems there are many.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of the argument. While there is an attempt to use transition words like 'Furthermore' and 'In the conclusion,' the overall structure lacks the sophistication required for higher bands. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother flow between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range needed for a higher score. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'some people blamed to the loss' and 'nature punish us.' The repetition of the phrase 'more important environmental problems' throughout the essay limits the lexical range. To improve, you should focus on using more precise terminology related to environmental science and avoid repeating the same phrases. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations will significantly enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('environmental problem arises'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction ('Global warming should be watched and study in vast'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading your work to correct subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
