Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views regarding the loss of species versus other environmental problems. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention deforestation and air pollution, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. The 'epitome' regarding Asian Tigers is a good attempt at an example, but the explanation of how their loss affects the ecosystem is vague. Your position is stated in the introduction, but it is not consistently maintained or clearly argued throughout the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument that directly links back to the prompt's core question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'As an epitome' or 'In this paragraph I will discuss'. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed; for instance, the transition between the loss of species and the mention of air pollution in the third paragraph feels abrupt. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help improve the flow and logical connection between your sentences and paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, using terms like 'ecosystem', 'extinction', and 'air pollution'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'raising day by day' (should be 'rising') and 'global warning' (should be 'global warming'). The phrase 'As an epitome' is used incorrectly in this context. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used accurately to convey your intended meaning without relying on repetitive structures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Their are many animals and plants are facing' (subject-verb agreement and redundant 'are'), 'causes major issue to the human's system' (article usage and possessive error), and 'Both, Loss of species' (unnecessary capitalization and punctuation). To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and consistent verb tense usage throughout your writing.
