Student answer (Band 6.0)
In modern days, group of people consider that priority environment issue is loss of specific species of plants and animals while others believe that there are array of important eco system problem. The upcoming essay will shed light on both opinions of society.
To begin with the importance of particular plant species, they play a vital role in providing habitat to wild animals. Habitat is essential for survival of every living thing on earth. Different types of trees are suitable for specific species such as bushes, flowers, dense forests, tall trees. Another important reason for conservation of animals is regulation of food chain. Herbivore and carnivore both type of creatures regulate population of each other on planet. Animals not only eat each other but few parasites living on others body for nutrition. In result of this, reduction in on variety cause decrease in other type of animals too.
On the other hand, with the progress in industralisation, there are lot of environment issues whose negative impacts are intense. The major one is pollution rising from factories, chemical burns. Pollution has various forms such as air, water, soil and sound pollution. It negatively effect mankind, wildlife and marine life as well. Air and water pollution cause allergies, asthma, cancer and other health diseases. Soil productivity decreased and acidity is increased everyday everyday by excessive use of fertilizers. The effect of these pollutant are observed with in few years and irreversible.
To conclude, plant and animals play key role in balancing the ecosystem while pollution also effect growth of plants and species. In my opinion, environment activist and government should collaborative work on preservation of eco system and introduction of new technologies to minimize the waste from factories.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, while you mention the food chain, the explanation is a bit simplistic. The discussion on pollution is relevant but could be better linked to the prompt's requirement to compare the 'importance' of these issues. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis of why one issue might be considered more critical than the other.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In result of this'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these pollutant') is grammatically accurate will help improve the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'industrialisation', 'ecosystem', and 'conservation'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'array of important eco system problem' (should be 'problems') and 'chemical burns' (which is not the standard term for industrial pollution). There are also minor spelling or word-formation issues, such as 'in result of this' and 'everyday everyday'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' is often missing), pluralization ('reduction in on variety'), and subject-verb agreement ('pollution also effect growth'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'In modern days, group of people consider'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your points, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, especially regarding articles and verb forms.
