Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. The arguments regarding climate change and species loss are repetitive and lack logical depth. For example, the explanation of how temperature affects animals is vague and confusing, and the connection between 'waste material' and 'dangerous diseases' is not clearly articulated. The position is stated, but the supporting points are under-developed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the reasoning. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea supported by clear, relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly, such as starting a paragraph with 'One the other hand' when it is the first body paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the relationship between sentences is frequently strained, which hinders the flow of the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which occasionally impedes communication. Phrases like 'major ecosystem harmfulness' and 'planting the various plants' are unnatural and do not convey the intended meaning effectively. There is a reliance on basic vocabulary, and attempts to use more complex terms often result in errors in collocation and word choice, such as 'decrease people in bees'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and using more precise terminology to express your ideas clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('many people also suffering'), subject-verb agreement errors ('it plan an vital role'), and awkward phrasing that makes sentences difficult to parse. Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
