Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, we are losses particular species of plants for innovating new research and formula. Some people believe it is the main environmental problem. While, other individual argue that there are more important atmosphere challenge. In the upcoming paragraphs I discuss both views in my own words.

On the one hand, we lost many important spices of trees and animals in the modern world because of we cut down forest to builds some stadium, parks and government residence. Moreover, build new roads, and innovated some new mega cities in jungle. In addition, some animals are very useful to make some vaccations and make some leather products. For example, cobra snacks has rarest poison and it useful to make cancer vaccination, and tiger skin are very tight so it use in make some branded clothes.

On the other hand, losing ecosystem became more risky for our future health because with the help of trees we get pure oxygen. Other side, nowadays, forest are cut down for country wealth and developed some industries for money. In addition, animals losses their homes and lives in roads, it dangerous for people life. For example, peoples cut downed half of the girnar forest, so lions are came village for find food, many times they killed humans and cow.

In my opinion, we are losses many crucial animals but now we have to stop kill them. Other side, we damaged our ecosystem too much so now we take care of them and not cut down jungle for higher innovations.

In conclusion, i believe there are number of environment issues we have to overcome, if we solve the problem of currently we are facing, the others difficulty will fixed too automatically.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding species loss and other environmental issues are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on 'country wealth' and 'industries' is vague and does not clearly contrast with the loss of biodiversity. The position is stated but could be more clearly articulated throughout the essay. To improve, you should focus on providing more specific, well-reasoned arguments rather than listing general examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the other side' and 'In addition' are used frequently, sometimes in contexts where they do not fit logically. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the second and third paragraphs where the transition between the loss of species and the reasons for it is abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'vaccations' instead of 'vaccines', 'spices' instead of 'species', and 'innovated' used incorrectly. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS essay, while ensuring that you use words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('we are losses', 'animals losses'), tense usage ('lions are came'), and sentence structure ('if we solve the problem of currently we are facing'). While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are persistent and occur in almost every sentence. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in grammatical inaccuracies. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and pluralisation will significantly improve your score.
