The extinction of several plants and animals as a major threat to environment has become a widely debated issue. Some people believe that this loss of plants and animals is main environmental issue now a days while others consider that there are several more important environmental issues that needs our concentration. I firmly stand with the first point of view and considers that loss to plant's and animal's habitat is the basic threat to environments because all other advanced threats has their roots in these extinctions.

The ones who believes that there are several other contributing factors towards destruction of environment has their own reasons. They consider that other factors like pollution in which different toxins mix up with the air which we breath. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph discusses the opposing view, the second body paragraph attempts to refute it but lacks depth and specific examples. The conclusion is incomplete, as the final sentence is cut off, which prevents a full summary of the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each viewpoint is supported by concrete examples and that the conclusion is fully articulated to reinforce your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'While on the contrary' and 'To conclude', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but the abrupt ending of the final paragraph negatively impacts the overall flow and coherence of the piece. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring all paragraphs are fully developed would enhance the logical structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'cannot serves us' (should be 'serve') and 'hazardous' used as a noun. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'extinction', 'toxins', and 'species', the range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'others consider that there are several more important environmental issues that needs our concentration') and pluralization (e.g., 'plant's and animal's habitat'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect apostrophe usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and punctuation would significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
