Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 85 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While the introduction attempts to outline the two views, the body paragraph is cut off abruptly, preventing any meaningful discussion or the presentation of a clear, supported opinion. The failure to meet the minimum length requirement is a major constraint that prevents the development of a coherent argument, resulting in a low score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, but the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall logical progression. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' are used, but the lack of completion means the structure is incomplete. The flow of ideas is interrupted by the premature conclusion of the text, which hinders the reader's ability to follow the argument. To improve, ensure that each paragraph is fully developed with supporting evidence and that ideas are linked logically throughout the entire essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'nature lover' and 'animal lover' are simplistic, and there are errors in word choice, such as 'losses special species' instead of 'the loss of specific species'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise academic terminology related to environmental issues, such as 'biodiversity loss', 'ecosystem degradation', or 'anthropogenic impact', and ensure correct word forms are used in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the short text. Examples include 'Environmental changes is considerable issue' (missing articles and subject-verb agreement) and 'when we have vast species our environment was more clean' (tense inconsistency). The sentence structures are basic and contain errors that occasionally impede the clarity of the message. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and maintaining consistent verb tenses. Practicing complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional forms, will also help increase your score.
