Student answer (Band 5.0)
Society is divided into egocentric and altruistic mind-sets of people. although some masses hold the viewpoint that few people say that the main environment cause of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals . because of loss of species ,I believe that the other say that are more important environment problems hold more importance.
on the one hand the main reason why some masses favor the former statement is because loss of species .this is due to fact that impact on ecosystem if a species disappears ,it can disturb the food chain and damage the entire ecosystem for instance , a survey conducted by forest department has provided concrete evidence by highlighting that 40% of people animal and plant are important for survival . as a result, there is good for environment .
on the other hand ,i believe that the latter point of view supporters give the major reason of climate change in its favor. as they believe that when weather change its effect on temperature climate droughts and rising sea level . Another reason to be given by them is pollution . They give this reason due to people mostly use vehicles car, bikes etc it make a dangerous pollution it effect on environment .
to conclude, even though people support that environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals ., I believe that more important environmental problems is valuable because of pollution and climate change reasons .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding species loss and climate change are presented in a very simplistic manner, lacking depth and specific, well-explained examples. The survey mentioned is vague and does not effectively support the argument. The position is clear, but the overall analysis remains superficial, preventing the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with logical reasoning and more detailed, relevant illustrations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'on the one hand' and 'on the other hand' are used, but the transitions between sentences are frequently abrupt. There is a lack of logical flow within paragraphs, and some sentences are disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel repetitive and sometimes confusing. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'important', 'problem', and 'reason' throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'masses favor the former statement' and 'make a dangerous pollution'. Some phrasing is unnatural, which occasionally impedes the clarity of your message. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, academic terms and demonstrate a better understanding of how words collocate in English.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, sentence fragments, and incorrect punctuation. For example, 'when weather change its effect on temperature climate' is grammatically incorrect and difficult to follow. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the score. Focusing on mastering basic sentence structure and proofreading for common errors would be a beneficial next step.
