By looking at the first statement,Nowadays, various species of plants and animals are dying due to environmental pollution.People do not act upon the rules of government. Wastes from factories and ind industries is thrown into canals and rivers and streams. When the animals drink water from these sites, they begin to die. Most people supply water to their fields and crops from canals and rivers and streams. This polluted water when enter the fields, it results in death of plants species Factories and industries release smoke into air. when plants and animals inhale this polluted air, they begin to die.Air pollution, water pollution, land pollution are the main environmental problems which result in loss of particular species of plants and animals. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views, but the development is uneven. While the first view regarding the loss of species is discussed with some examples, the second view—that there are more important environmental problems—is not clearly articulated. The student mentions that people want to use land for industries, but fails to explain why these might be considered 'more important' than biodiversity loss. The position is clear in the conclusion, but the arguments lack the depth required for a higher band. The essay is somewhat repetitive and lacks a balanced exploration of the two perspectives.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical and sometimes disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'By looking at the...'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. While there is an overall logical progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the somewhat simplistic structure of the arguments hinder the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'environmental pollution', 'factories and industries', and 'plants and animals' are used repeatedly. There is little attempt to use less common or more precise vocabulary. Some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'controlling of species' or 'result in death of plants species'. To improve, the student should focus on using synonyms and more academic collocations to express ideas with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'This polluted water when enter the fields, it results in death of plants species'. Punctuation is frequently incorrect, with missing spaces after commas and periods. There are also errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'into air' instead of 'into the air'). The frequency of these errors occasionally impedes the flow of reading.
