Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people argue that the major environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals while other group believes that there are more important environmental problems. This essay will discuss the both views before representing the my perspective.
On the one hand, people consider the main issue of present world is lack of plants and animals. This perception is bulid because they see most of the forest are cutting down in their surrounding and consequently we lost many animal species. They believe these two factor are really affecting the environment because plants provide us many benefits such as oxygen, shades and nutricious food too and animals allow us to build a relation with them and they allow us to spend our free time with them. For example, a person is living abroad far away from his family, a pet such as dog can help to reduce his bordam.
On the other hand, other community believe we should care about the other environmental problems such as population, polution and climate change. In the present era some countries had never thought about birth control and in the result population of the world is increasing. However, these generations are not considerable responsible and become the reason of polution. For Instance, the vast use of plastic. These irresponsible acts demaging the envirnment and climate too.
In my opinion, governments should consider the plantation and animal species as a major factor because plantation offers food and oxygen for the survival of human being and animals helps to add some colors in our life.
To sum up, every person has consideration according to their surroundings and what they experienced but the plants and animals play a major role in the development of a peaceful environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding species loss focuses heavily on the personal benefits of pets and shade, rather than broader ecological impacts. Similarly, the discussion on other environmental problems is a bit disjointed, mentioning population and plastic use without fully connecting them to the 'importance' of the issue. To reach a higher band, you should provide more substantial, analytical arguments that explore the global consequences of these environmental challenges rather than focusing on personal or anecdotal examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'This perception is bulid because...' and 'In the result population...'. While the essay is coherent, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow of ideas. The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the arguments within the paragraphs could be strengthened to ensure a more sophisticated logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors or non-standard collocations, such as 'bulid' (built), 'nutricious' (nutritious), 'bordam' (boredom), and 'demaging' (damaging). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring correct spelling of key terms. Expanding your range to include more precise terminology related to environmental science would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include 'discuss the both views', 'most of the forest are cutting down', 'these two factor', and 'plantation offers food'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement throughout the text. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article consistency will help improve your score significantly.
