Student answer (Band 5.0)
man throug the ages has undergone the time and enironment is changed dur to the new technologies and inventions. some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. i discuss both view and give my opinion below.
i completly agree with this because in nowdays many problems came in our environments like loss of animals and plants . is is very bad for us because all the things and species in our environment are benifical for us like is they destroy plants then we have no other alternative to breathe in fresh air. the main problem occur is allergic . the solution of this disease is the freash air and water.solution is to plant more and more trees and take care of species and give them an enviroment that is for them.
if we observe the other important problem then the industrial waste is the biggest problem for our enviroment because they build industries in main cities then they pollute our air and through the dirty water in small rivers or sea. we breathe inthi air and drink this water then all the main disease came in our body . the solution is to build industries far from main cities and where alot of people lived . and also through the dirty water in mud .
to sum up, there are many other problem in our environemnts because of new technologies and build new buildings and not use them for good things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views, but the development is limited. While you mention the loss of species and industrial waste, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or depth. Your own opinion is stated in the introduction, but it is not consistently supported throughout the body paragraphs. The conclusion is very brief and introduces new, irrelevant points about 'new buildings' that were not discussed previously. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear idea supported by a detailed explanation or a concrete example, and ensure your conclusion summarizes your main points without adding new information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices (linking words) to connect sentences and ideas logically. For example, the transition between the discussion of species loss and industrial waste is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'they' when referring to industries or environmental problems. To improve, use a wider range of linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast', or 'on the other hand' to guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple words like 'problem', 'bad', and 'things' throughout the essay. There are also several spelling errors (e.g., 'throug', 'enironment', 'benifical', 'freash') and word choice issues, such as 'allergic' used as a noun instead of 'allergies'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a more varied range of vocabulary, including topic-specific terms related to the environment (e.g., 'biodiversity', 'ecosystem', 'industrial pollutants', 'sustainability') and demonstrate more precise control over word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('many problems came', 'disease came'), article usage ('the main problem occur'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures that lack proper punctuation. While you attempt some complex ideas, the errors often impede the flow of your writing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect pluralization. Practice writing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions like 'although', 'because', or 'which'.
