Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views regarding environmental problems, but the development is uneven. While you mention the loss of species and other issues like pollution and global warming, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The 'opinion' is mentioned in the introduction but is not clearly sustained or fully integrated into the conclusion, which is quite brief and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, ensure each body paragraph has a clear topic sentence and a well-developed explanation that directly links back to the prompt's core question.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of effective cohesive devices. Transitions like 'To commence with' and 'On other hand' are used, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed. For instance, the transition between the discussion of animal extinction and the mention of circuses is abrupt. Furthermore, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence flows naturally from the previous one will enhance coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'flaura', 'extictions', 'othjer') and word choice issues (e.g., 'more several', 'industrialist' used to mean 'industrial activities'). You rely on basic vocabulary, and some phrases are repetitive or unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring correct spelling. Expanding your range to include less common lexical items related to the environment would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there are people who thinks'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'the main problem happened in recent time'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will help improve your score.
