Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 130 words. This significant under-length results in an incomplete response where the arguments are not developed. While the essay attempts to mention both views, the ideas are severely underdeveloped and lack logical support or relevant examples. The position is not clearly articulated or maintained throughout the text. Due to the failure to address the task requirements in terms of length and depth, the response is limited in its ability to provide a coherent argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the progression of ideas is disjointed and difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'now a day' and 'very'. The lack of logical flow between sentences makes it challenging for the reader to identify the main points or the relationship between the two views presented. The writing is fragmented, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is not effectively managed.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are numerous errors in word choice, such as 'low' instead of 'loss', 'ossein' (which is contextually incorrect), and 'catting' instead of 'cutting'. The repetition of basic words like 'very' and 'important' demonstrates a lack of range. The student struggles to express complex ideas due to a restricted lexicon, and many phrases are unintelligible or grammatically incorrect, making it difficult to convey the intended meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement ('plants are gives'), tense usage, and sentence structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, and the lack of complex structures prevents the demonstration of grammatical control. Many sentences are fragmented or lack a clear subject and verb, which causes significant difficulty for the reader. The high frequency of errors throughout the text indicates a lack of control over basic grammatical forms.
