Student answer (Band 5.5)
The disappearing of some species of plants and animals is the alraming condition regarding the enviromental protection. Some individuals beleive that extintcion of some species of plants and animals is the main cause of the main environmental issue, Others have different view and according to them that there are many other environmental problems.I shall discuss both view and give my argument regarding this.
Firstly, One group have a view that due to decline in the population of particular types of animals and plants cause a major enviromental problem. As decline in any specific specie of fauna and flora create a gap in whole environmental cycle. The disturbance in food cycle of any creature by escape of any particular specie leads to environmental issue. To strength their argument cite example of extnction of deer from africa forests which leads to starvation condition of many creatures, like lions, by which whole environmental system disturbed. That condition converted to decline in the population of lions and increase in the population buffaloes by which whole environmental system of forest disturbed.
On the other hand, Critics point of view tell different opinion. There are many environmental problems not just loss of any specie. According to them, loss of any creature is the effect of environmental problems not the actual problem. They gave example to strength their point, as in forest of south america some species died due to polluted water in forest which came from near by factories. Polluted water is the environmental issue as loss of some particular species is the indirect problem not direct.
In conclusion, even though decline of some biodiversity is loss to environment but should focus on the main causes by which this indirect problem occur.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like the extinction of deer in Africa or pollution in South America, the analysis remains relatively superficial. To achieve a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of these environmental issues with more depth. Your position is clear, but the conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. Ensure that your opinion is integrated more naturally throughout the essay rather than just mentioned in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'That condition converted to decline in the population of lions'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') is precise will help improve the logical progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'alraming', 'enviromental', 'beleive', 'extintcion', and 'specie' (when 'species' is required). These errors occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'fauna and flora' and 'biodiversity', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common academic terms and expanding your repertoire of collocations to express ideas more precisely rather than relying on basic descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('decline in any specific specie... create a gap'), missing articles ('in forest of south america'), and awkward sentence construction ('Critics point of view tell different opinion'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and article usage, and practice constructing more complex sentences without sacrificing clarity.
