Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many people believe that the main reason of environmental problem is loss of some species of plants and animals while other thinks that there are more important environmental problems are there to think about it .
The people who think that loss of plants and animals causes the environmental problems are those who believe that by lossing plants and animals our enviornment faces more weather changes because of plants environment became more calim and pure for air and gives us frish air to breath. plants helps to reduce the pollution and make this world happy place to live for human and animals.
Now those people who think that there are far more important envirinmental problems there think that if lossing plants and animals causes problems then by lossing dinosurs nothing has been change they believe that our enviroment is facing more important challenges e.g: educational problems ,healths issues country politics and many more challenges are there in the world which needed more attenstion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The discussion regarding the loss of species is somewhat simplistic, and the counter-argument regarding 'educational problems' and 'politics' is not clearly linked to the environmental context, making the argument feel tangential. The personal opinion is stated but lacks depth, as it shifts focus to health issues like COVID-19, which deviates from the core environmental debate. To improve, ensure that all arguments directly relate to the specific environmental topic provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. Phrases like 'Now those people who think' and 'I must say that' are used to transition between ideas, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs is not always smooth. More varied linking words and better sentence-to-sentence connection would improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which restricts the ability to discuss the topic with precision. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'lossing' (losing), 'enviornment' (environment), 'calim' (calm), 'frish' (fresh), 'dinosurs' (dinosaurs), 'attenstion' (attention), and 'sperade' (spread). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to the environment (e.g., biodiversity, ecosystem, habitat) and work on accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('other thinks', 'plants helps'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as the opening sentence which lacks proper punctuation and clarity. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
