Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both views, the discussion is incomplete and ends abruptly mid-sentence. The position is stated, but the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples or depth. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored and that you reach the required length to allow for a balanced, well-reasoned discussion. Currently, the essay is too brief to demonstrate the ability to develop a coherent argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used in a limited and somewhat mechanical way (e.g., 'In this modern era', 'From my perspective', 'On the other hand'). Because the final paragraph is cut off, the overall structure is fragmented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas within and between paragraphs, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that contributes to the overall flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'main environmental problem' and 'main reason behind this'. There are also minor collocation issues, such as 'environmental hazard of modern days' instead of 'modern environmental hazards'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the environment, such as 'biodiversity loss', 'anthropogenic factors', or 'mitigation strategies', and avoid repeating the same sentence structures and word choices throughout your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For example, 'Some individual say' should be 'Some individuals say', and 'the there is significant loss' contains a redundant article. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. The incomplete final sentence makes it difficult to assess your control over complex syntax. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and articles, and practice constructing more complex sentences with accurate punctuation.
