Some believes that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. However, others believes that there are more important environmental issues. Both viewpoints are valid but, I strongly believe that there are many other issues which needs more attention rather than just losing a particular species.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 117 words. This failure to meet the minimum length requirement severely limits the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion in the introduction, the discussion is cut off mid-sentence. Because the response is incomplete and lacks the necessary depth and support for the arguments presented, it cannot fully address the task requirements. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full, balanced discussion with supporting examples and a clear conclusion, which requires meeting the minimum word count.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows an attempt at logical organization by using transition signals like 'On the one hand' and 'As a result'. However, the abrupt ending of the text prevents a coherent flow of ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the development within the paragraphs is truncated. The use of cohesive devices is limited due to the incomplete nature of the response. To achieve a higher score, you need to ensure that your ideas are fully developed and linked together in a way that guides the reader through your argument from introduction to a final conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally functional but basic. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'People initializing the industries' and 'consume this harmful gases'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and the text does not demonstrate the ability to use less common lexical items accurately. To improve, focus on learning collocations (e.g., 'emit harmful gases' instead of 'consume') and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues, such as 'biodiversity loss', 'industrial pollution', or 'sustainable development'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the short text. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'Some believes' (should be 'Some believe') and 'others believes' (should be 'others believe'). Additionally, there are errors in pluralization, such as 'this harmful gases' (should be 'these harmful gases'). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the incomplete nature of the text means there is no opportunity to demonstrate a range of complex structures. Focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization rules before attempting more complex sentence patterns.
