Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people tell the environmental problem happen in our time because the loss of different types of species of plants and animals. Other says that there are more important environmental problems also. I will discuss both of views and give my opinion in the further paragraphs.
Firstly, people believe that environment problems happen in nowadays because people cut the trees and plants for their personal use. So, Carbon dioxide level may be increase due to cut of the trees and plants. As a result, this is may be harmful for people on their health also. For example, if people cut the trees and plants nearby their home, it is harmful for their health. Because trees and plants increase oxygen level. After that, people face problems in breathing. However, looking for only one reason is not solution for aware of it.
Secondly, other people say there are more important problems rather than only give importance to plants and trees. Because factories and other machinery also release carbon dioxide. Which may be harmful for people's health. For example, industries release lots of carbon dioxide, while it produces any thing. So, these is may be reason for environmental problem rather than give importance only trees and plants.
In conclusion, although people looking for only one reason for environmental problem. But i think we look for other reason also. We can solve problems after see many problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both views, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. You mention the loss of species in the introduction but fail to discuss this specific topic in the body paragraphs, focusing instead on deforestation and industrial pollution. The position is not clearly articulated or sustained throughout the essay. To improve, ensure you address all parts of the prompt directly and provide more detailed explanations and examples for each perspective to meet the length requirement and demonstrate depth of thought.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'After that' and 'Which may be harmful'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarise the main points or restate your position clearly. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'problems', 'people', and 'things'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'environment problems happen in nowadays' and 'this is may be reason'. You struggle to use less common vocabulary or precise terminology related to environmental issues. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary, such as 'biodiversity', 'industrial emissions', or 'mitigation strategies', and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('Carbon dioxide level may be increase'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction ('Because trees and plants increase oxygen level'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments starting with 'Because' or 'Which'. To improve, practice using a wider range of complex sentence structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, and focus on basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to reduce the frequency of errors.
