Student answer (Band 5.5)

In present time, environment is the most damaged sector due to the humans including me. few individuals argue that main concern to environment is loss of particular species of plants and animals. meanwhile others including me favor towards more stressful concerns. this essay will discuss about both the notions along with my points of view.

On the one hand people that tends to the side of loss of species , explains it as most important problem in its favor they do argues about certain reasons that includes their importance in field of science and medicine as its true that there are a lot of medicines that are produced by certain types of plants and animals like rats and squirrels are used as a models to perform experiments and researches. but one of the main reason is disbalance in ecosystem, there is a chain called food chain that consists of animals that are hunters and preys at same time to animals in front and behind in row. suppose the animals as points joining each other to form a line and even one points get erased that whole line in no longer able to survive.

On the other hand," there are many concerned topics far more important then species" said by opposition. they consider topics like global warming, drastic climate changes, pollution as their headlines because these are the calamities affecting whole earth and slowly killing it. that means the human annihilation will be done by humans themselves all this is due to pollution done without any doubt.

To conclude it is mandatory to conserve environment as much we can because if it not changed now the future will criticize us and we will regret too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation of the food chain is a bit simplistic, and the discussion on global warming lacks specific examples or depth. While the position is clear, the conclusion is very brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed supporting evidence for each viewpoint and ensure your conclusion reflects the complexity of the discussion rather than just a general statement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, phrases like 'in present time' and 'meanwhile others' are used awkwardly. There are also issues with punctuation, such as the unnecessary quotation marks in the second body paragraph and the lack of capitalization at the start of sentences. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel a bit forced. Improving your use of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'damaged sector', 'stressful concerns', and 'concerned topics', which do not always convey the intended meaning accurately. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'human annihilation will be done by humans' instead of 'caused by humans'. To reach a higher band, you should work on using more sophisticated collocations and academic vocabulary. Avoid informal phrasing and focus on selecting words that precisely fit the context of environmental science and policy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people that tends to'), missing articles, and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'disbalance' instead of 'imbalance'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be a great starting point for improvement.
