Student answer (Band 5.0)
Environmental problems are those which occur due to natural process and it also occur because of human beings. In my opinion both the problems are valid in reason for environmental problems.
Firstly, loss of particular species of plants it contributes toward the environmental problems.Because plants give us fresh oxygen which helps us to be save from many diseases but due to this continouslly growing population the forest are being cut down and cities, malls, roads are built there. And due to deforestation and loss of tress fresh air is becoming poisnous.
Other environmental problems are mainly that are caused by human beings. For example, the pollution occur because of many cars and transport items that people used for their work and we through garbages in an open area and then fire them.Due to which pollution occur and as the result of these pollution the temprature increases due to which the glaciers are melting in higher rates that causes floods in many areas. So to reduce this we should use public tranport instead of our own cars, motorbikes.
And some environmental problems occur naturally for example, volcanic eruption which may some time hrams the areas near them. And burning of forests due to which the pollution occur and which have many adverse effects on society.
At last,i want to say that we are the reasons behind these environmental problems so if we want to control pollution we have to act upon policies and we have to not cut forests for our personal use.Because forests are the blessing of Allah and it gives us air to survive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on environmental problems (loss of species versus other issues like pollution and natural disasters) and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For example, the discussion on plant loss mentions oxygen and deforestation, but the supporting points are brief and lack depth. The distinction between human-caused and natural problems is introduced, yet the arguments remain fairly basic and over-generalized. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the ideas require further extension to meet the higher band descriptors. Consequently, this performance aligns closely with Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Other environmental problems', and 'At last'. However, paragraphing is somewhat problematic; the text is clumped into dense blocks without adequate separation for distinct ideas, and sentences within paragraphs sometimes lack smooth transitions. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun usage in sentences like 'due to this continouslly growing population the forest are being cut down'. The overall progression feels mechanical rather than naturally logical, restricting the cohesion to a Band 5.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, featuring basic terms such as 'environmental problems', 'cars', and 'pollution'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'through garbages' instead of 'throw garbage', 'transport items', and 'hrams' for 'harms'. Spelling mistakes like 'continouslly' and 'temprature' also occur. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, these frequent inaccuracies and lack of flexibility place the lexical resource firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in tense, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'Environmental problems are those which occur due to natural process and it also occur' and 'the forest are being cut down'. Punctuation is also flawed, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, this demonstrates the characteristics of Band 5.0.
