Student answer (Band 5.0)

According to the given prespective some people believe that the main environmental problem of our time is too loss of particular species of plants and animals. They believe that plants produce oxygen which is necessary for living and play a important role in living healthy life . they firmly believe that certain types of plants are also use in medicine. so deforstation mainly causes many environmental isuess, Loss of anmimals also cause many environmental problems because when a new vaccine is introduced its first use is on animals to check the advantages and drawbacks of the vaccine like mice.Deforstation is also crucial cause of increasing earth temperature. But other citizens contradicts that there are more important enviroment problems than this they believe that other envionmental problems is more important than the loss of plants and animals .like ozone layer depition which is the crucial environmental problem the damage is happened due to excessive use of solar panels that exbits ultraviolent rays which is the main cause of ozone layer deplition. But according to my prespective both are important but NOw a days loss of certain species of plants and animals is the main environmental problem because plants produce oxygen which is basic necessity of life and animals is use in experiments that is also very important fore persons health if deforstation is increased day by day it cause many serious problems and health issues like Co2 level is increase arround us than oxygen. IN coclusion every enviromental problem affects population life so both are important and to be noticed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that the loss of specific species is the main environmental problem, and that other problems are more important—while also providing a clear personal opinion. The student attempts to extend ideas by giving reasons, such as plants producing oxygen and being used in medicine, and animals being used for vaccine testing. However, the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For example, the counter-argument regarding ozone layer depletion is underdeveloped and contains factual inaccuracies (e.g., blaming solar panels). Furthermore, the argument occasionally wanders into general statements about deforestation without fully linking them back to species loss. Overall, the task is addressed, placing the response at a Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a basic logical organisation with an introduction, body views, a personal opinion, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is severely hindered by a lack of appropriate paragraphing; the entire response is written as a single, massive block of text. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively (e.g., 'According to the given prespective', 'They believe', 'Deforstation is also crucial', 'But other citizens contradicts', 'IN coclusion'), and referencing is sometimes confusing. While the reader can generally follow the shifts in argument, the mechanical cohesion and absence of paragraph breaks restrict the coherence to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited and occasionally repetitive range of vocabulary. While there are some attempts to use less common items related to the topic—such as 'deforestation', 'vaccine', and 'ultraviolent rays'—there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the writing. Examples include 'prespective' instead of perspective, 'too loss' instead of the loss, 'is also use' instead of are also used, 'isuess' for issues, 'depition' and 'deplition' for depletion, and 'arround' for around. Although the meaning can usually be deciphered, these frequent lexical and spelling errors place the response firmly at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and attempted complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak throughout. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Examples include 'animals is use in experiments' (should be are used), 'that exbits' (should exhibit), 'if deforstation is increased... it cause' (conditional structure errors), and a general lack of proper sentence boundaries, leading to run-on sentences. Punctuation is largely neglected, with lowercase letters starting sentences and missing commas. Because errors are frequent and regularly cause strain for the reader, this warrants a Band 5.0.
