Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that the loss of species is the main environmental problem and that other issues are more important—while providing a personal opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat underdeveloped and lack detailed, fully articulated support. Furthermore, an important deduction must be applied because the response contains 244 words, falling slightly short of the 250-word minimum requirement specified for IELTS Writing Task 2. Consequently, the task achievement is constrained to Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which provides a basic organisational structure. There is an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different perspectives, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical and faulty cohesive devices, such as 'Furthermore, others argue that thire is environmental problems which as imortant as loss of species'. Referencing and logical transitions are occasionally unclear, and punctuation errors disrupt the flow. Overall, the organizational features are adequate for a Band 5.0 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that permeate the text, such as 'earith', 'seafer', 'kined', 'humanbeing', 'nawadays', 'lake', 'effect' instead of affect, and 'rabdily'. While the writer attempts some topic-specific terms like 'environment', 'species', and 'pollution', the severe spelling and morphological inaccuracies impede communication at times and place the response firmly in the Band 4.0 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is very low throughout the text. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'life have in significantly', 'others argument'), article usage, and prepositions. Sentence boundary errors, fragments, and missing words are frequent, such as 'thire is environmental problems which as imortant' and 'duo to other issue can develop rabdily'. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader, aligning with Band 4.0 descriptors.
