Student answer (Band 5.0)

The question is about the major environmental problem of present time is the loss of specific species of plants and animals while other believe that there are also more significant environmental problems. I bileive the both trends has some trustable reason and step can be easily solved the problem.

There are various kind s of reason so that people believe the main environmental issues of todays time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. One possible reason is hunting. Hunting is the most popular but dangerous things done by peoples in now-a-days. For example, people are hunting the rabits, crow, vulture etc. who plays most crucial role for the environment by eating the dust, death animals etc. Humas of this contemporary eras also started to destroy the plants such as red chandan, segun, meheguni and so on which has also plays significant roles by producing fresh oxygen to us.

Despite the above argument, there are also some other reason which effects the envireonment so badly. For instance, human of todays are not aware of their environment. they are falling the waste , bins where they want. Though have proper put and bins to keep the gurbage but they cannot do this. by dpoing this, they makes teh air and water polluted which in future effects the sorrounding environment day by day. But it is believe that if the government keeps proper action towards this then the problem will be resolved as soon as possible.

In conclusion, by the analyses of above factors, it can be said that not only the loss of species of plants and animals are responsible for making the environment dust, but also human being s are same responsible for this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views outlined in the prompt (the loss of species vs. other environmental issues) and presents a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on plant and animal loss mentions hunting and habitat destruction generally ('people are hunting the rabits, crow, vulture etc.'), but these points are underdeveloped and lack depth. Similarly, the alternative view focusing on pollution ('they are falling the waste , bins where they want') is described in very basic terms. While a clear position is maintained throughout, the ideas require further extension, specific examples, and deeper analysis to reach a higher band. Consequently, a band score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at logical structure (introduction, two body paragraphs, conclusion). However, the overall progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by poor cohesive devices and mechanical referencing. For example, transition phrases like 'Despite the above argument' and 'In conclusion, by the analyses of above factors' are awkward. Furthermore, referencing within sentences is often unclear, such as 'they makes teh air and water polluted'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak, leading to an overall disjointed flow. These features place the response firmly at band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited and repetitive range of vocabulary that is only minimally adequate for the task. There are frequent word choice errors, incorrect collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text (e.g., 'bileive' instead of believe, 'rabits', 'death animals' instead of dead animals, 'gurbage', 'dpoing'). Attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary eras', result in unnatural phrasing. While the meaning can generally be deciphered despite the errors, the vocabulary constraints and frequent inaccuracies restrict the score to a band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on positive marking for communicative intent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures are almost invariably faulty (e.g., 'the major environmental problem of present time is... while other believe that...', 'the both trends has some trustable reason and step can be easily solved the problem'). Frequent grammatical errors—including subject-verb agreement issues ('trend has', 'role plays', 'they makes'), incorrect pluralisation, and poor punctuation—cause considerable difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in places. This dense concentration of grammatical faults reflects the band 4 descriptor criteria.
