Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is a considerable debate that extinction of a particular species of fauna and flora is the main environmental issue nowadays. Others argue that there are many more significant environmental concerns. From my persecptive, loss of spiecies is the major issue; since, others issues such as air pollution, traffic congestion, environmental degradatio are also need equally attention.
On the one hand, those individuals who believe loss of species is largely harmful for environment have some vital reasons. Firstly, particular species of animals and plants made a proper food chain of biodiversity, if any one species loss, then whole chain will affected. As a case in point, overfishing can remove fishes more than repproduction. This can damage the food chain and destroy whole biodiversity. Some plants are used in medication, so removal of specific plants species can cause difficulities to making medicines.
On the other hand, environmental degradation, traffic congestion and deforestation are also main problems for ecosystem. Due to the excced use of transportation caused air pollution and emissions of carbon dioxide in a large scale. In this contemporary era, for the construction of industries required land, then it become a reason of deforestation. These industries produce smoke and waste which can contaminated rivers, lakes.
To sum up, these all are main problems for ecosystem. Government and authorities should make polices and take steps such as reduce the use of plastic, use public transportation, prohibited prey of animels and others to reduce these issues by education and awarness to people about the concequences of these factors in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether species loss is the primary environmental problem and providing a personal opinion. The writer establishes a position in the introduction, stating 'From my persecptive, loss of spiecies is the major issue', and attempts to support this with relevant arguments regarding food chains and biodiversity. However, the reasoning is occasionally convoluted. For instance, in the introduction, the writer states that other issues 'are also need equally attention', which somewhat contradicts the clear stance that species loss is the main problem. Ideas are presented and supported with examples like overfishing, but some body paragraphs drift slightly into general environmental degradation without tightly tethering back to the prompt's central theme. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it at a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is arranged into four paragraphs, providing a clear overall structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal shifts in logic, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To sum up'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, 'since, others issues such as... are also need equally attention' contains grammatical and cohesive awkwardness. Paragraphing is generally used appropriately to separate different viewpoints, but internal sentence transitions can feel abrupt. Logical progression is maintained for the most part, though the conclusion introduces a long, run-on sentence listing multiple remediation strategies that detracts from smooth flow. These features align the response with a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'biodiversity', 'extinction', 'overfishing', and 'environmental degradation'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that recur throughout the text. Examples include 'persecptive' instead of perspective, 'spiecies' instead of species, 'repproduction' instead of reproduction, 'difficulities' instead of difficulties, 'excced' instead of excessive, 'contaminated' instead of contaminate, 'polices' instead of policies, 'prohibited prey of animels' instead of prohibiting animal poaching, and 'awarness' instead of awareness. These numerous lexical and spelling errors occasionally impede smooth reading and prevent the response from achieving a higher band, placing it solidly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that cause difficulty for the reader. Notable errors include 'There is a considerable debate that' (awkward collocation), 'others issues... are also need equally attention' (passive/active confusion), 'if any one species loss, then whole chain will affected' (conditional and voice errors), 'for the construction of industries required land, then it become a reason' (faulty clause structure), and 'these all are main problems' (non-standard phrasing). Control over basic and complex structures is inconsistent, with frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, and sentence boundaries. This corresponds to the Band 5.0 descriptor.
