Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to address all parts of the prompt by discussing the loss of species and other environmental problems, as well as providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is severely limited and unclear. For instance, the student mentions that 'animals and plants helps to makes the medicine' and that cutting down trees leads to 'climate clouds'. While a position is stated in the introduction ('For my prespective...') and reiterated in the conclusion, the arguments are repetitive and lack sufficient support or extension. Because the ideas are underdeveloped and the reasoning is often difficult to follow, this performance aligns closely with Band 4.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Paragraphing is attempted, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall organisation lacks a clear logical progression. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as starting sentences repetitively with 'mostly people' or relying on mechanical transitions like 'Firstly' and 'In addition' without creating smooth links between ideas. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it hard to follow the relationships between sentences. These issues place the response firmly at Band 4.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by severe word choice and spelling errors (e.g., 'prespective' instead of perspective, 'agrued', 'envoirnment', 'dramback', 'mostky', 'cuttings'). There are very few attempts at less common lexical items, and when they are attempted, inaccuracies cause confusion for the reader, such as 'climate clouds' or 'physical sports grounds provide in one space'. The limited range and frequent errors that strain the reader indicate a Band 4.0 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of faulty simple and attempted complex sentences. There are pervasive grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('animals and plants helps', 'people ... is agrued'), tense confusion ('In past 10 years, people more than million animals kill'), and severe punctuation and structural flaws. The frequency of errors frequently distorts meaning and causes difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 4.0 descriptors.
