Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address all parts of the prompt by discussing both the loss of plant and animal species and alternative environmental problems such as pollution and climate change, whilst offering a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear. For instance, the statement 'The primary reason why I agree, because animals and plants both very important...' lacks clear extension and logical support. The explanation of why plants and animals matter ('it gives very amazing vibes and naturally factors') is superficial and under-developed. Although a position is stated, the reasoning is somewhat repetitive and vague, which aligns best with Band 5 descriptors where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a conventional structure including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, overall progression is hindered by poor logical links and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'On the other hand the argue is, that other things like climate changing also harmful...' creates an abrupt shift. Furthermore, referencing and cohesive devices are frequently inaccurate or repetitive, such as the overuse of 'and' to connect clauses. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak, leading to a score that reflects the characteristics of Band 4 to Band 5, settling safely at 4.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms such as 'bad environment', 'very detrimental', and 'very harmful'. There are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'climate changing' instead of 'climate change', 'travilling things' instead of 'vehicles', and 'factory emmisions pollutions'. These lexical limitations and spelling errors ('agrre', 'essantial', 'motercycle', 'conculsion', 'govertnment') occasionally strain the reader and restrict the range to a level that minimally satisfies the task, consistent with Band 4 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempt complex forms that are severely flawed, such as 'where has plants damaged there keep new plants' and 'where should take reactions and them makes better.' Grammatical inaccuracies are pervasive throughout the text, involving missing verbs, incorrect word forms, and poor punctuation. These frequent errors disrupt the flow and occasionally distort the intended meaning, making the grammar indicative of a Band 4 performance.
